Wednesday Night Wine
04 April 2019
It's official. Wednesday evening at 6.53pm is when most of us feel confident enough of making it through to the weekend to pull off our ties, kick off our shoes and pour ourselves a glass of wine.
A study, by Cobevco an Australian bottler, shows that we believe this is the evening most of us feel we’ve broken the back of the week, and are ready to start looking forward to the weekend.
So what should we be drinking? It is, after all still a school night.
For white, can we suggest a Verdejo as a change for the ubiquitous Sauvignon or Pinot. This Spanish wine bursts forth with peach, apricot, lime, citrus and tropical fruit notes which slide into a lovely dry finish. It’s a great sipping wine that will set you up nicely for the weekend.
Interestingly, it has also revealed that men are quicker with the cork, typically pouring their first glass at 6.40pm, while women are half an hour behind, taking their first sip at 7.07pm.

Took delivery, from a well-known Scottish online butcher, of the lamb for our Easter Sunday lunch. It's my favourite meal of the year, the kids are all home from the big smoke with lots of stories and with a few pals thrown in too, it will be a quiet lunch for 14.

"This is a place inspired by the long lasting lunches people from Mendoza grew up with. Typical Mendoza meals with no time frame and surrounded by nature, homemade food and wine."
