Wonderful Riesling with Chilean Sausage Rolls
We had a wonderful day experiencing all on offer at Casas del Bosque, Casablanca, Chile. From cycling around the vinyards to enjoying the excellent restaurant and shops, not to mention the fabulous wines .
It’s situated in the Casablanca Valley, 70k from Santiago and 30k from Valparaiso (definitely worth a visit!). There’s over 235 hectares planted dedicated to cool climate varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir.
The Reisling was a delicious accompaniment to our starters - Empanadas – a Chilean (and Argentinian) delicacy – a bit like a Gregg’s Sausage Roll but better (as if ...)! The Pinot Noir had a wonderful aroma of dried figs, hints of vanilla, spice and strawberries – truly delicious and not too heavy for a lunch.
Altogether, a great day was had by all.

Took delivery, from a well-known Scottish online butcher, of the lamb for our Easter Sunday lunch. It's my favourite meal of the year, the kids are all home from the big smoke with lots of stories and with a few pals thrown in too, it will be a quiet lunch for 14.

It's official. Wednesday evening at 6.53pm is when most of us feel confident enough of making it through to the weekend to pull off our ties, kick off our shoes and pour ourselves a glass of wine.

"This is a place inspired by the long lasting lunches people from Mendoza grew up with. Typical Mendoza meals with no time frame and surrounded by nature, homemade food and wine."
