The Best Time to Drink Champagne
11 November 2018
"Pour the Champagne and let the mousse rise, like thousands of sparkling smiling eyes"
It's a choice, it's a big Anniversary and therefore before we get into the day, a glass of something sparkling is in order. It could be Prosecco or Cava but for me Champagne is the morning drink so it's a no brainer. It's got the acidity to cut through the richness of the breakfast. The fizz just lifts the flavours of citrus, red fruits and brioche.
The Maillart Grand Cru Rose is a classic Champagne made by the family that have grown the grapes for over 300 years, they know what they are doing. Being a Grand Cru means that it's made from the best grapes, only 9% of all the grapes grown in Champagne having that status.
So, as you take that first sip know you are drinking the best of the best, which is what you deserve.

Loved this one at home - even better near Vineyard where it's produced...

This is a 750ml bottle - it's emptied very quickly ... easy summer, Bank Holiday drinking.

It was a great way to spend our last day on Arran, food from MARA fish bar & deli at Corrie and a bottle of Roquestar Rose. The Rose with its crisp and fruity flavour really complemented the sweetness of the Langoustine. Very simple but the best things usually are.
