And the winner is ...
The Highland Games was great fun!!
It’s very rewarding to meet people, get their reactions to the wines we have chosen and think are fantastic.
For us the big winner was the Elle & Lui Rose from Domaine D’Hondrat. From the eye-catching bottle to the juice inside it went down really well. In most cases literally!
The other, not surprising, result was the dominance of Sauvignon Blanc in people’s consciousness and their surprise at how good the Grauburgunder is. Grauburgunder is the German Pinot Gris and demonstrates what a great grape this can be when made in the right way.
Unfortunately because of the label we can’t show you a picture as it has a “naughty” word in the title, so you will have to go and look it up at https://www.itswinetime.co.uk/wine/WHGI003
Finally, on the reds the LAN Rioja Reserve reminded people of just how good Rioja can be for that BBQ or informal dinner, light and fruity it is really glug-able and always had people coming back for more.
Looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Took delivery, from a well-known Scottish online butcher, of the lamb for our Easter Sunday lunch. It's my favourite meal of the year, the kids are all home from the big smoke with lots of stories and with a few pals thrown in too, it will be a quiet lunch for 14.
