Wine of the Week : Castellari Bergagilo

Time for a Catch Up
At last the sun comes out and we get the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy a glass of lunch. The glass in question was a Gavi di Gavi from Castellari Bergaglio Rolona.
We were lucky enough to be on Arran for the weekend, which for those not from these parts, is an island off the west coast of Scotland. It's a great place to just slow down, take long walks, look at the sea and spend time with friends.
This wine was the perfect accompaniment to a light lunch of antipasti, bread and salad. It's fruity, aromatic and with enough acidity to cut through the olive oil sprinkled liberally over everything.

Fathers' Day is fast approaching and I've always found that the best presents are those you've bought for yourself.

The weather's looking dry and clear - BBQ could be a good option?

Took delivery, from a well-known Scottish online butcher, of the lamb for our Easter Sunday lunch. It's my favourite meal of the year, the kids are all home from the big smoke with lots of stories and with a few pals thrown in too, it will be a quiet lunch for 14.
